Franz Klaber has been in the band since 1953, when as a middle schooler he started playing in the group started and led by his father, Franz Klaber, Sr. He took over leadership of the band in 1963 after his father's sudden passing, and steered the band from the Franz Klaber Orchestra to the Klaberheads. Although he suffered a stroke in 2006, he only missed one gig, and through hard work and German stubbornness, came back and continues to entertain the crowd however he can!
He served in the U.S. Army Band in the late 50’s and was stationed in Germany. Always the consummate entertainer, Franz loves to bring a smile and a laugh to the audience. You will find him wearing many different hats and using some pretty funny props!
