We feature Franz and Emily on these Christmas songs.
“This Christmas” is a cover of the Donnie Hathaway classic. We love how Emily sings this one!
“Mele Kalikimaka” is the famous Hawaiian Christmas song, popularized by Bing Crosby and the Andrews Sisters. Franz starts this one out and is joined by his granddaughter Emily!
“It’s Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas” is also a duet, featuring Franz and Emily trading lines.
“Backe Backe Bienenstich” is our Christmas original. The verses are sung by Emily. It was inspired by the yearly tradition of Franz baking and distributing the German pastry (translated literally it means “bee sting”) to hundreds of friends and family. The song talks about some family history and the procedure of making bienenstich. The chorus is in German.
The English translation reads as follows:
Bake, bake, bee sting cake, My bee sting cake, I love you.
Mr. Klaber made it for me, Bake, bake, bee sting cake.
Every year around this time, Franz starts baking.
Lucky people on the list Get to eat a bee sting cake
